Description Picture Damage
  • damaging species generally are 1/4 to 1/2 inches long
  • cylindrical and elongate in shape
  • smooth, shiny and hard-bodied
  • color varies from yellow and brownish
  • larvae of click beetles
  • may cause severe damage to vegetables

  • bore into large roots, stems and tubers
  • yield and quality may be reduced
  • wireworms attack virtually every vegetable crop
